The studio is a laboratory for exploring how we merge content and material.
The basics of design and development of manual skill initiates the search to finding an individual or collaborative visual language.
Sometimes we work from a place of abstraction and pull meaning from the action of transformation.
Sometimes we work from an idea and search for the best method of conveyance.
The hope is to cultivate a growth mindset; flexible and not beholden to previous, fixed expectations.
(goals-acknowledgement of effort, embrace failure(1in100aregood) no growth without labor-werklehre, encouraging creative rule breaking/bending/stretching/interpereting, liberation pedagogy, BMC holistic approach, importance of study outside art)
